Our reconditioning specification is designed to address worn and damaged internal engine components and prepare the engine for service. The exact operations depend on the engine design and the condition of the unit.
Stage 1 — Strip-down, cleaning and inspection
The engine is stripped for assessment. The block is crack-tested and the engine is decoked and cleaned. Components are inspected to identify wear or damage that requires machining or replacement.
Stage 2 — Block, crankshaft and cylinder head
The crankshaft is polished or reground as required. The cylinder head is pressure-tested, and the valves are reseated. These operations help identify defects and restore appropriate sealing surfaces.
Stage 3 — Internal components
The rebuild specification includes new pistons and piston rings, main bearings, big-end bearings, head gasket, new front and rear crankshaft seals, a new oil pump and new piston oil-cooling jets.
Stage 4 — Timing and external components
Timing belts and/or chains are renewed as applicable to the engine. The specification also includes a new timing cover and new sump pan. Engine components are finished and sprayed.
Stage 5 — Final checks and preparation
The assembled engine is checked against the relevant build requirements and prepared for supply. Ask our team about the inspection and test documentation available for your particular engine.
Six-month unlimited-mileage warranty
Every reconditioned engine is supplied with a six-month warranty with unlimited mileage during the warranty period, subject to written warranty terms.
Part-exchange requirement
All reconditioned engines are sold on a part-exchange basis. If you cannot provide a usable exchange engine, a £250 + VAT surcharge applies (£300 including VAT at 20%). Engine prices exclude VAT; fitting, delivery and other charges are quoted separately.
The rebuilding process and the parts applicable to a specific engine should be confirmed on your quotation. If your van has suffered an engine failure, ask us to help identify the likely cause before choosing a replacement.
Tell us your vehicle registration and requirements. Our team will confirm the correct engine and final pricing.
