Ford Transit Engine Replacement Costs Explained

Ford Transit Engine Replacement Cost: What Makes Up the Price?

The cost of replacing a Ford Transit engine depends on the exact engine, availability, whether you need fitting and what additional work is required. Comparing quotes is easier when every charge is listed separately.

Engine supply price

The base price depends on the engine specification. See our live engine listings for current advertised supply-only prices. We will verify the correct unit before confirming your order.

VAT

Check whether a price is quoted excluding or including VAT. Transit Tech’s advertised engine prices exclude VAT. Your final written quotation will show applicable VAT.

Fitting labour

If you request supply and fit, labour is quoted separately according to the vehicle and agreed scope. Ask whether fluids, filters, diagnostic checks and ancillary repairs are included.

Delivery and collection

Supply-only engines can be discussed for nationwide delivery. Charges and arrangements depend on the delivery location and order details; these will be confirmed before purchase.

Part-exchange surcharge

Our listed prices assume a usable exchange engine. If you cannot provide a usable exchange unit, the surcharge is £250 plus VAT, equivalent to £300 including VAT at 20%. Acceptance of an exchange unit is subject to inspection and confirmation.

Avoiding unexpected costs

Ask for a written, itemised quote showing the engine, VAT, fitting, consumables, delivery and any exchange requirements. Ensure the original failure cause has been considered before installation.

Warranty

Reconditioned engines have a six-month unlimited-mileage warranty, subject to written terms. Request a copy of the terms before ordering.
