Ford Transit Engine Codes and Compatibility
Two vans with the same engine capacity do not always use interchangeable engines. Engine code, production year, emissions equipment, drive layout and other components may affect compatibility.
Start with your registration, model, year, engine capacity and engine code if known. We may also ask for the VIN and photographs of engine identification markings. A registration lookup is a useful starting point, but is not a guarantee of exact fitment.
Ford Transit vehicles have used several diesel engine families, including 2.0 EcoBlue, 2.2 TDCi and 2.4 TDCi units. These names describe broad engine groups rather than a complete replacement specification. Exact availability and suitability must be checked against the individual vehicle.
Front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive
Different drivetrain arrangements can require different engine or installation components. Tell us whether your van is front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive where applicable.
Euro emissions standards and ancillary parts
Emissions standards and vehicle-specific ancillaries can affect the parts needed for a correct installation. Confirm what is included with the engine and what must be transferred from the original unit.
Transit Tech can discuss compatible reconditioned engines for supply only or supply and fit. We confirm the proposed engine specification and final price before you place an order.
Prices and exchange terms
Advertised engine prices exclude VAT and fitting and assume a usable exchange engine. If no usable exchange unit is supplied, a £250 + VAT surcharge applies. The six-month unlimited-mileage warranty is subject to written terms.
Tell us your vehicle registration and requirements. Our team will confirm the correct engine and final pricing.
